• Approval is requested for the minutes from the November 13th, 2024 meeting as drafted - approved.

Agenda:

• Ongoing tracking spreadsheet of specifications progressing through the JESP specification version lifecycle
• Check in on EE 11 Release Review ballots, see the spreadsheet for updates and notes.
• Catch up on the Jakarta EE 11 Release Plan [Ed Burns]
• EE 11 - Prioritized backlog · Jakarta EE11 TCK Release (github.com) and Jakarta EE11 TCK Release board  
• Core Profile release ballot currently running
• Almost all votes in, those who haven’t voted encouraged to do so
• Proposal currently circulating and being voted on by the Platform project on excluding certain tests from the TCK for Platform and Web Profile
• People are encouraged to get their votes in.
• New discussion threads raised yesterday
• Put Web Profile out for ballot before Platform?
• Previously we attempted to keep them released together to ensure the same versions were used across both
• This scenario is unlikely to happen here though
• Appclient being considered as marked as deprecation for EE11 rather than EE12.
• A similar suggestion to exclude these without deprecating was previously had and it was suggested would fail - this is a slightly different suggestion as the failing tests would now be deprecated and excluded
• This won’t help anything for EE11 - deprecated features still need to be tested
• Discussion is currently around marking these technologies as optional in the respective component specifications (and releasing new versions for use in Platform)
• Catch up on the Jakarta EE 12 Release Plan [Ed Burns]
• [11/13] As the Platform Project begins the Jakarta EE 12 development cycle, they have requested (on jakarta.ee-spec.committee) for Progress Reviews for:

The mentors for these projects are requested to let these projects know that they are required to provide input for a Progress Review and in particular to confirm (or revise) their scope and delivery timeline.

• [11/13] Issue #55 was discussed, a proposal was presented by Ed Bratt for consideration

• No formal specifications needed
• Discuss and potentially vote
• We would be doing an update to the TCK Process, Ed Bratt will draft a pull request which we will vote on.
• Jakarta EE 11 release retrospective ongoing [All]  
• Review the open issues:
• Determine which issues to label as “enhancement” and add to our board
• Close issues which can are no longer relevant or have been dealt with
• Feel free to open new issues here which we will get to after the release is done. Add the “enhancement” label.
