Past business / action items:

  • Approval is requested for the meeting minutes from the August 19th meeting as drafted - Approved.

Agenda:

  • CDI 3.0 re-spin? [KWS]

    • David found several items in the CDI spec and javadoc that still referenced “Java EE” and the “javax” namespace.

    • Should we fix and re-spin the CDI ballot?

      • Recommended to withdraw the current ballot and re-spin a new one. Kevin has the action.

      • Ivar reported that Jakarta Authorization 2.0 spec. has the same issues.

        • Discovered later that it was a false alarm

      • Link to the process document on voting. https://jakarta.ee/about/jesp/

        • A ballot will be declared invalid and concluded immediately in the event that the Specification Team withdraws from the corresponding review.

  • Jakarta EE 9 Specification Ballots

  • Updates to the Compatible Products page for product version and Jakarta EE versions. [Christie]

We shared all proposals for the Committee’s comments in the email. Here is the file link. Please refer to the file for comments. The proposals will be put forward to the Marketing Committee on August 27th.

Example from Kevin:

Link for all Compatibility Certification Requests Link to all Open Liberty Compatibility Certification Requests

Previous Ed’s comments regarding the Compatible Products page were mainly focused on the amount of details we are attempting to provide on the new design, which is addressed now in the new mockups.

All other compatible products (ones that are  not Full Platform or Profile, or that have not signed Trademark Lic Agreement) should be listed on the Specification pages. Currently the process for this is to have the vendor of the individual specification implementation submit a PR request against Specification repo. Ivar’s suggestion - we should create a Template for this.

Ivar to follow-up with the Webdev team to see if this is possible.

  • We should review / act on this after Jakarta EE 9 is released.

  • Recording of the Specification Committee calls? [Werner]
