The minutes for the February 19th Specification Committee call are below and are also available here. Quorum was not reached so these minutes are for review only. Our next call is on March 4th.

  • Initiate the release plan ballot for JAF and JEB (aka EJB). Targeted for the next review slot which ends on March 4th.

    • Ballot for JAF release plan underway on the mailing list

    • Ballot for JEB release plan to be initiated [Wayne]

  • Status on the ballot for the Jakarta EE 8 “Java SE” specs:

    • Kevin will initiate the next steps on these Specs and ensure that our operations guide has appropriate coverage

  • Summarized the Platform Development call from yesterday [KWS]

    • Compatible Implementations -- Glassfish and the independent CIs (mojarra, mail, batch, cdi, etc).  Steve (Payara) and Kenji (Fujitsu) have volunteered to kick off a plan for creating the Jakarta EE 9 CI.  If not this week (Fujitsu), then next week (Payara).

    • Replacing or Migrating the monolithic TCK with the smaller, independent project TCKs.  Lots of good discussion, but no clear answer. Will need somebody or some team to drive this.  This is not a requirement for Jakarta EE 9, but we need to figure out a plan so that we’re ready and running for Jakarta EE 10.
