Re: [jakarta.ee-spec.committee] Fwd: [ee4j-pmc] Jakarta Activation 1.2.2, XML Binding 2.3.3 and XML Web Services 2.3.3 release review

Just an FYI...  These reviews are all part of getting these Java SE features across the finish line for "Jakarta EE 8" in preparation for the Jakarta EE 9 effort.  They've been discussed at our Spec calls since early December (if not before...):  https://github.com/jakartaee/specifications/pulls?q=is:pr+is:open+label:javase

Myself and Bill have been helping to shepard the PRs and getting them ready for ballot.  We would like to initiate the ballots this week.  If you haven't been watching these PRs, please take another quick review so that we can prep for a successful ballot.

Thanks!

One +1 from the PMC is enough. As a matter of practice, the EMO "drags their feet" on recording the single PMC member's approval to give other PMC members a window of opportunity to argue.

Have these releases been socialized with the Jakarta EE Specification Committee? If you have not done so already, please send a note to the jakarta.ee-spec@xxxxxxxxxxxlist to inform the specification committee that these are coming and ask for feedback on the release descriptions. i.e., ask if there is sufficient detail in these descriptions for them to vote yes in the specification committee ballot that we need to initiate to approve the service release.

Thanks,

Wayne

Question:  What about SOAP attachments and Web Services Metadata?  Will those be coming on a later request?
