Re: [jakarta.ee-spec.committee] list of compatible implementations

From my perspective I was imaging we’re not the involved in the approval process beyond clicking the merge button.

As far as not being involved in clicking the merge button and letting individual specs do it, that would involve either:

 - opening the write permissions for the ‘specifications’ repo
 - more git externals so each project could maintain some chunk of their content on jakarta.ee
 - some automated tooling

I think long term we’ll find the second option attractive as letting projects have some ability to publish tutorials, proposals, presentations, roadmaps and other content would be beneficial.  We really wouldn’t want to be middle-men in anything like that.

Short term we’re probably stuck clicking the merge button.

I agree with the idea of using PRs.  As long as the format of the page data is sufficiently documented, then that would be the preferred route.

But, I don't think the Spec Committee needs to be involved with each component Specification approval and merging, do we?  Can't we leave that up to the individual component Spec teams?

Or perhaps

the specification page?

This has been my preference.  The spirit being "don't make work for others."

When they submit that PR there should be an approved certification request from the Specification Project in the PR description.  Until we see that we don't click merge.

If all lines up, anyone from the Specification Committee can click merge.
