Re: [jakarta.ee-spec.committee] Fw: [jakartaee-spec-project-leads] resigning as CA project lead

Thanks Dmitry. It’s a pity Ray could no longer contribute.

It was interesting to see Liferay participate in Jakarta EE after I asked them every now and then, how the Portlet spec (something that seems to have a higher priority there) might act upon the new specs in the near future.

Glad Annotations did not get stalled as it is among the most widely used Jakarta EE specs in the new namespace even before the official release of Jakarta EE 8.

FYI... On the PMC call today, Dmitry signed up to help take Annotations over the finish line...  Thanks, Dmitry!

This is unfortunate...  I saw that Jakarta Annotations was on our list for review tomorrow.  I sent a private ping to Ray asking him about responding to the comments on the Specifications PR...  I think that ping and associated work effort prompted this resignation.  Although he says it's been brewing for a couple of weeks...

In any case, Jakarta Annotations is not ready for a review in it's current state.  Several updates have been identified already via this PR.  We'll need to find another volunteer to pick up this effort...

Hello all,

(I've held back this email for a couple of weeks already)

Sadly, I'm resigning as Jakarta Annotations project lead (short lived as it was). I think it's for the best because I don't feel I'm doing the project justice. I hope someone can take over because this project is already close to blocking the Jakarta EE 8 release.

I've had a shift in work priorities which means I have too many other higher priority tasks to complete those required by this project in a timely fashion.

It's best to make this clear to everyone as soon as possible.

Thanks for letting me get involved and I'm sorry and saddened I couldn't get it done.

Sincerely,
- Ray
