Greetings Specification Committee...
This is not a ballot request. This is not a formal vote.
As you may recall, the scope statement that was approved
for Jakarta XML Web Services did not include scope statements
for the three specifications contained by the specification
project. I'd like to start that ballot, and will do so on the
public list.
Before that, however, I'd like to give you an opportunity
to express any concerns.
Jakarta XML Web Services defines a means for
implementing XML-Based Web Services based on Jakarta SOAP
with Attachments and Jakarta Web Services Metadata.
Jakarta Web Services Metadata defines programming
model for Web Services in Java, use of metadata,
non-normative processing model for metadata annotated web
service source file, runtime requirements for a container
and annotations used for WSDL, binding and configuration.
Jakarta SOAP with Attachments defines API enabling
developers to produce and consume messages conforming to the
SOAP 1.1, SOAP 1.2 and SOAP Attachments Feature.
Please express any concerns that you have directly on the
issue.
I'll initiate the vote on the public list tomorrow or
Wednesday (depending on feedback).
