Re: [jakarta.ee-spec.committee] [jakarta.ee-spec] Automation for creating boilerplate-spec PRs

On the automation I opted not to post to the leads list yet as I'm not ready to demand action/attention from them.  But I hope to be there soon and when all the PRs are ready I will definitely be posing to the leads list.  Till then, I might create some white noise and don't want to desensitize the leads to the thread or begin thinking mails on the leads list are optional.

My primary goal of posting here is to let the committee know I'm taking the action item seriously and it's moving forward.

The status quo that lead to the leads list was they were (are) required to be subscribed to and read the EE4J PMC list.  In practice they missed every action item handed to them as the PMC also uses the list to talk amongst itself.  We lacked an unmissable way to say to leads "you're up to bat" with a side of "three strikes and you're out."

How we want to handle the lists is a good discussion to have on the agenda for tomorrow.

I think information that all the spec leads should know should go to the spec leads list, and that's what this seemed like to me.

The public spec committee list is going to be used for ballots.  I guess we should decide what else it should be used for.  Do we  expect all spec project leads to subscribe to it?

It was intended for the public list.  Are we ok to have more discussions there?

My motivation for sending it to that list vs leads is that there is no action item for the leads as I'm not quite done.

Was an update on status of commitments I made to Steering/Spec committees with a slant to be a bit more transparent.

David, note that this was sent to the Spec Committee public mailing list.  Was that what you intended?

If you intended it to be public, it probably would've been better sent to the new spec leads mailing list.

End-to-end success achieved on jms-api:

Generator source is here:

Tried ejb-api and management-api.  Notice some differences that threw the generator off.  Didn't look serious.  Pulled an all-nighter so going to get a few hours of sleep then try on some other projects.
