  • Past business / action items

    • Approval of meeting min Nov 14th

    • Approved: Ivar moved and David second

  • Reviewing the Plan

    • Oct. 6: Draft complete

    • Oct. 10: Specification Committee approval to refer it to the Steering Committee

    • Oct. 16: Steering Committee approval to release for community review

    • Oct. 17 - 31: Community review

    • Work on the final version

      • EFSP v1.0

      • Jakarta EE SP v1.0

  • Jakarta EE Working Group calls - call Nov 28th

  • Agreeing on accepting EFSP v1.0

    • After the discussion it was agreed that the current draft is a suitable to base the Jakarta EE Specification Process on.

  • Jakarta EE Spec process

    • based on EFSP, but not necessarily the same

    • The equivalent of a JCP maintenance review needs to be addressed. The EFSP version 1.0 includes  minor releases, but these require the full weight of the process; and service releases are for bug fixes and very simple errata only.

      • We will sort this out while we engage in the process. This may end up as an addition to the EFSP (version 1.1?) or as a specialization in the Jakarta EE Specification Process

    • We need a “Dials and knobs” document (possibly an FAQ) that details how a Working Group might extend the EFSP.

    • We will use  Jakarta EE NoSQL to test  EF Spec Process and do customization if necessary; we will capture notes and evolve a draft of the Jakarta EE Specification Process.

    • Jakarta EE NoSQL project status

      • Creation review is done

      • provisioning is next step; we are waiting on :

        1. Board approval of the new IP policy

        2. Agreements need to be in place (MCCA and WGPA) for project lead/primary committer (Tomitribe)

        3. Agreements for other committers (being pursued by the EF Membership Team via separate channels).

        4. Wayne / Tanja to follow up with EF Membership Team to get in touch with Tomitribe

    • Proposal to make Jakarta EE NoSQL go through the full Jakarta EE Specification Process once it’s defined and adopted by the Specification Committee. General agreement in principle, will sort out details as we develop the process.

  • TCK process - David Blevins

    • Completion of the TCK process no later than Jan 30th 2019

  • Werner - in 2 weeks, Dec 12th, to provide an update on Jakarta EE NoSQL

  • Java EE Specifications contribution from Oracle -> open question still, Oracle legal dependent
