Re: [jakarta.ee-spec.committee] Calendar oddity insight

The picture shows an entry from my Google Calendar. When I received an email invite for the call from Mike, all I needed to do is to accept the invite (selecting "Yes" option) and that created an entry in my Calendar. I did not need to "Add to calendar".
I am starting to believe this is the difference between Google suite users and all other users. Do others see the same as David?

Is that the email invite or the actual entry in your calendar?  He definitely shows up as the organizer in the email invite.  However, it appears gmail will not "accept" the invite if you are not on the invite list and instead will just help you make a new calendar entry of your own with similar details.  It's then up to you to manage the entry, including delete it or update it.

Thanks for sharing David!

That is very strange indeed.

I see Mike as the organizer.

I think I've discovered some of the reason sending calendar invites to the list is giving us troubles.  The short story is it appears to result in each of us maintaining our own copy of the original invite.  So it will appear on our calendar, but we will not be able to get any updates or cancellations.

Using Java terms it's pass by copy, not pass by reference.
