Re: [jakarta.ee-community] My Tribute to the Late Bill Shannon

Bill graduated from Case Western university in Ohio. To my knowledge he only ever worked for DEC briefly and then Sun/Oracle.

A wikipedia page is indeed another excellent idea. If someone else could take that up, I would really appreciate it. I can connect to folks that can help provide all the necessary information and sources to do that.

It is not that I do not think that it is important, it is just that it is a very non-trivial exercise and for me it would mean further diverting focus away from existing community commitments such as Jakarta EE 9, Jakarta EE 10, the Jakarta EE Ambassadors and Eclipse Cargo Tracker.

Thanks for that, Reza. He started in Unix - do you know where he studied, and if he had a short stint at LucasFilm,
or am I mixing him up with somebody with a similar name?  What you have provided would make a good start
on a WikiPedia page for a more permanent memorial, though they are pretty strinct in demanding
external sources like newspapers.
