I believe we did. The use of Jakarta EE Development Slack is optional, and many choose to sign up and be in touch that way also.
For the communication to wide community and decision making, we will always use mailing list.

So did we ever come up with a decision? It seems to me that several people won't use the slack channel. Personally I probably would, but I don't think it's particularly necessary.
