[iot-wg] Horizon Europe Funding Opportunity: Join a Software Supply Chain Security Proposal (HORIZON-CL3-2026-02)

Hello Eclipse IoT Community,

Our Research team has been invited to participate in a proposal for a major Horizon Europe funding call, and we want to open the doors for our community members to get involved.

This opportunity links directly with our recent community conversations around software security, compliance with the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), and the adoption of SBOMs. As digital systems become more complex, securing every stage of how software is built, tracked, and updated is more critical than ever. This initiative, titled "Approaches and tools for security in software and hardware development and assessment" (HORIZON-CL3-2026-02-CS-ECCC-01), focuses on tackling these exact industry challenges.

Core Project Scope & Key Tasks

To help you quickly determine if this matches your current technical goals or commercial interests, here are the main tasks in plain English:

  • Finding and Fixing Bugs Automatically: Developing tools that use smart analysis and AI to spot software weaknesses early, alongside mechanisms that can automatically patch code before it can be exploited.

  • Building Security into the Development Workflow: Creating frameworks where security rules are enforced automatically as developers write code, while also preparing software to resist future security risks, like quantum computing threats.

  • Tracking Software Origins & Safe Updates: Designing reliable ways to track exactly where software parts come from (provenance tracking) and building highly secure delivery systems so software updates cannot be tampered with.

How to Get Involved

If your organisation sees a good technical match with any of these areas and you want to explore joining the project consortium, please reply directly to this email by Thursday, July 23.

Manrique, our Director of Research, and I will connect interested partners with the team to map out the next steps for the application.

Best regards,

Ignacio Ahedo
