Android Studio would also be used by developers that are linking their Android apps to IoT platforms. Using the Paho Android service for example...

Android Studio is relevant in the IoT area because it is the
development environment for Android Things[1][2] (formerly known as
Brillo)
which is an Android based OS for embedded devices.
