Re: [iot-wg] Eclipse IoT projects deployment requirements

Hi Matteo,

I agree that Docker should be a target too. Feel free to add inputs as to the requirements for providing Docker images. My understanding is that if we make most of the Eclipse IoT projects available in upstream repos, providing dockerfiles for them wouldn’t be the hardest part, right?
I actually played with the Mosquitto Docker image a couple weeks ago and I have to admit that the experience was really smooth.

Thanks for the feedback,
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,

I think a good idea can be promoting the use of docker, and build containers for all the could components.
(it can also be a good way for managing our sandbox, too)

There is already a mosquitto docker image and a mosca docker image.

Cheers,

Matteo

All,

As discussed previously, I have started a wiki page to collect requirements in order to improve our build and deployment story for IoT projects.

I am looking forward to getting project leads’ feedback on this document, so feel free to comment directly on the wiki or on the mailing list.

The goal is to use this as the starting point for getting a proper set of tools and guidelines to make projects « good citizens » for embedded platforms like Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone, and cloud platforms like Amazon or Juju.
