It's important to the project and its community to make sure the PMC is aware of this change and has no objections about it.
As a part of the formal license change procedure, it would be great if we can have a record of the PMC approving it as a comment in
the restructuring GitLab ticket.

Hi dear IoT PMC team!
I'm Konstantina Gramatova - one of the Eclipse Kanto project leads - and I'm reaching out to you to share and get your feedback regarding Eclipse Kanto going dual licensed - under EPL v2 (the current license)
and Apache 2.0.
The key reasoning behind this license scheme change is mainly based on Kanto's potential adoption implications in the automotive domain being EPL v2 only which have been raised by the Eclipse SDV working group where Kanto plays an essential role in the in-vehicle
stack.
More details regarding the justification of this change you can find in
the public restructuring review as well as in
the related GitLab issue.
By making this change, we aim to combine both OSS evolution paths: encourage contributions and the community via EPL v2 for organizations and interested parties considering the EPL v2 OSS values imposed in it AND ease the adoption via enabling a permissive
Apache 2.0 usage for more conservative use cases and domains.
