Re: [ide-dev] Getting feedback on IDE

It sounds like just an extra field on the survey question (i.e. bug number or URL).

This has been discussed in the past, the question then is who is going to monitor the inbox?
And, no users don't know enough about Eclipse to figure out under which bucket to open the bug.

Can this be somehow integrated with BZ? So the developer who has the bug assigned to can setup the survey and the users would see the link to the bug report - raising awareness of the bug tracker and giving users a chance to provide detailed answer as a comment.

BTW, the first survey I’d like to see is how to improve the Welcome page. It’s barely useful as it is now. I noticed a number of products bringing the welcome experience into an editor window so you can bring it back and maybe even link it to workflows.
To make it easier for both users and contributors, it would be better to avoid complex surveys, and keep very simple questions such as:

Do you prefer Ctrl+O to:
* Open a file (from filesystem)
* Show quick outline

When there is no template, do you want Ctrl+Space to:
* Skip the template proposal
* Show it anyway

By default, do you prefer a:
* Light theme
* Dark theme
