| [glassfish-dev] Release of 7.1.0 finally happened! |
Hi GlassFish enthusiasts!
We have finally released GlassFish 7.1.0. The path was long and painful, we had to fight with all those transformations of CI, Maven Central, I forgot what else we had to resolve, but we are finally here again. We will resume usual frequency of releases now. The closest one is 8.0.0 where we still have some work to do, but I believe we will release it yet in December, as all paths are clear now.
The 7.1.0 was created because we had to move GlassFish forward in meaning of reliability and Java features, meanwhile we had to adopt Jakarta EE 11. Both challenges could slow each other, so while me and part of other contributors worked on 7.1.0 in master branch, Arjan, Ondro and another part of contributors worked in branch named 8.0. From time to time we declared some safe point and master merged to 8.0 too. This way we reduced risks and maintained quite high tempo of work.
