Re: [glassfish-dev] [External] : Re: [Discuss] Adding Commercial Support and Services Companies for GlassFish
|
Perhaps this could be a resource that can serve as a reference
indicating how to find support for any Jakarta EE platform
implementation. Vendors supporting products that have
completed/approved CCRs could be allowed to add their support
contact reference details. For example, Fujitsu could list their
product since they have valid CCRs -- as could Tomitribe (who
doesn't have a GlassFish derivative product but who does
contribute to Jakarta EE). The GlassFish Dev team needn't be
required to seek out, nor add listings for any vendor (support or
implementation). But we certainly could encourage PRs to keep it
up to date (and perhaps include a policy that dead links can be
culled if they aren't kept up to date).
I don't see any reason this wouldn't be part of the GlassFish
web-site material. Anything that lives under glassfish/docs should
be designed for inclusion on the GlassFish site anyway.

Hi,
I
think it's better to add a table as a new project resource
to the homepage (https://glassfish.org/), which
is the front page for GlassFish users.
It
will end up in GitHub code, though...

Hi,
Yes, so we should say
somewhere you provide Interstage, which is based on
GlassFish, but not GF itself.
Do you have a proposal
of where to put something like that?

Hi Arjan,
Yes, but Fujitsu does not support
Eclipse GlassFish as is, so we need to provide some
supplemental explanation.
Considering that, it is not comfortable
listing in README.md, I think.
Kind regards,

Hi,
Related, would it perhaps be a good
idea to put Fujitsu Interstage in that list as
well?
Might be good to raise awareness that
Fujitsu has this offering based on GlassFish.

Hi,
It would be very useful for us to know that
there are companies that support GlassFish
commercially :)
But, IMO, GlassFish is not a product, it feels a
bit strange to include support information for
specific companies in the GitHub code.
"commercial support" mentioned here is the
service awareness for the "released (or
published)" GlassFish, so I think it's better to
list it only on the website that has information
about the released GlassFish likes
https://glassfish.org/.

Subject: [glassfish-dev] [Discuss] Adding
Commercial Support and Services Companies for
GlassFish
Hi folks,
As I try to explain in GF issue, https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/glassfish/issues/23615,
we would like to add companies that provide
"commercial support, related products or
professional services" around GF to increase
visibility and usability of GF.
There are several options to place this type of
content.
Here are the options:
1. Both Github and WebSite(s)
2. Only to Github
3. Only to WebSite(s)
*Github link: https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/glassfish/
*WebSites link: https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/ee4j.glassfish
and https://glassfish.org/
Could you please cast your option and what you
think?
Regards.
Gurkan
