In the meantime, is it possible to create a label 5.1.1 in issues of github? We can track the 5.1.1 related issues with this label.

Hi Steve

I wanted to do something for Jakarta EE community  as much as I could and to learn more about Eclipse Glassfish.

I like to release the 5.1.x because it is more like to be used in real development environment than 6.0.0 RC under the javax namespace. I thought that It will take a long time for the community to move from 5.x to 6.x and it may not be possible in near time.

Yeah, I know that I am not a decision maker of this 5.1.x release and if you don't have a plan to release 5.1.x  as Eclipse Glassfish management board, than I am fine.

It’s great that you are keen to contribute to put together a 5.1.1 release.

 

However to be honest we are pretty much wrapped up in getting a 6.0.0 RC release available for June to help along Jakarta EE 9 so I don’t see any help being available to get a point release out. Every point release will need to pass the CTS so I don’t think we have the bandwidth to make that happen until after the 6.0.0 RC.

 

I’m not sure we have even planned a 5.1.1. or even got a bunch of fixes to go into it.

Hi folks

More than a year has passed since 5.1.0. Can we make a new release for 5.1.1 version? I  am more than happy yo become a release manager? How can we roll the release, any pointer, help?

More frequent release is very important to build and the grow community.
