[geomesa-users] GeoMesa 4.0.0 released

The GeoMesa team here at CCRi is happy to announce a new major release, 4.0.0. Artifacts are available from Maven Central[1] and on GitHub[2]. Users are encourage to upgrade when possible.

This release adds support for Java 11 and 17 and Scala 2.13, and includes many dependency version updates. In addition, GeoMesa now integrates with Apache Sedona for improved joins in Spark SQL.

Some less-used modules were dropped, as well as support for Scala 2.11.
