Hey, welcome, and sorry the docs are outdated.

The geoserver plugin source code has been moved to the geoserver 2.8.x codebase under src/unsupported.

The binaries for direct installation into a 2.8.x geoserver are available for download here: <https://sourceforge.net/projects/geogig/files/geogig-1.0-RC2/geoserver-2.8-geogig-plugin.zip>

You just need to copy over the contents of that zip file into your geoserver's WEB-INF/lib folder and restart geoserver.

I have been able to work around the product buti am having issues connecting GeoGig with geoserver.
