[geogig-dev] release tag vs branch

Just catching up with the project with a fresh 'geogig' checkout, and something struck me as odd - the large number of release branches.

I expect for these "pre 1.0" releases we could get by with a tag, as it is very rare we would need to issue 1 "dot release" to patch a problem with existing deployments?
