This is possible and I will let you know when it is done.

There are plans to create a connection abstraction framework, which  
will provide ssh connection and gLogin connections. When this  
abstraction framework is developed (M8-M9), the batch plug-ins will  
use the framework. So just keep this in mind that the API of the batch  
plug-ins may change when this happens.
