Note that you can also go to Jenkins and download the release from the tag's build artifacts.

I’m trying to download the release candidate now, but my browser is still loading to start the download. Takes way more time than normally. I’m trying to do the same for v7.0, but same problem. So it seems to be a more general issue and not specifically to synchronizing the mirrors.

I just released v8.0-RC1:

Note that mirrors may still need to sync, so downloads may be a bit slower until then.
