p.s. downloading 300MB+ from download.eclipse.org takes like forever; otherwise I have a 500Mbps optical fibre connection and access to civilised sites if pretty fast.

Yes - the files as linked from https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/release/2020-12/m1 have mirror links, but even so, the mirrors have barely had time to propagate the late arriving dmg files.

However, as a committer, if you login to download.eclipse.org your speed will not be throttled (as much).
