Re: [epf-dev] EPF Wiki using Oracle

We are using RHEL 6.   However, we are having a difficult time getting Ruby 1.9.3 or 2.0.0 to run on that distribution.

Updated instructions would be fantastic.

Thanks,

Vanessa

Btw Vanessa, are you using release 1.7? You should consider using 1.8.1. This release has some bug fixes and includes a good full text search see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXJ_ATRhBTo for a demo.

Install guides are maybe not up-to-date on this but if you are trying this, please let me know what OS you are using Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu. I will check the install guide.

Onno

Hi Vanessa,

EPF Wiki is tested against MySQL database only. The underlying web framewok is database agnostic and does supports Oracle but to be sure EPF Wiki will work it needs to be tested against Oracle database. Maybe - if you have the time - you can configure an Oracle database and then run the unit, functional and integration test. It is only one command rake test. Most of the work will be to do the Oracle configuration.

If you want to try that I can give instructions on how to run the tests. if the tests succeed you can be sure it will work.

Onno

Hello,

I would like to set-up EPF wiki using Oracle instead of MySQL.   Is Oracle supported?  If so is there instruction available to setup the connection and point to the default oracle driver?   I looked through the EPF site, and tried surfing the web, but was unable to find any content.

Thanks,
