Re: [epf-dev] Apache version
|
Not everything. The apt-get stuff is of course Ubuntu specific and different with RedHat. So you will need to find RedHat specific for the following:
- MySQL client and server
- Apache
- apache2-prefork-dev libapr1-dev libaprutil1-dev
- Tidy
- Unzip
Should be straightforward? I'm not sure, I have never deployed on RedHat.

Hi again,
My company is considering moving to
Linux for hosting the EPFWIki because of the outdated software versions
under Windows but they support RedHat not Ubunto. Is the EPFWIki
supported on RedHat and are the installation instructions the same as Ubunto?
Thanks,
Tara

Hi Onno,
Thank you for the reply. I am limited to using Windows at this time
so I'd
be very interested in your results with the IIS/Windows setup.
Thanks,
Tara

Hi Tara,
If you can please use Ubuntu/Linux, not Windows! This is especially true
for production environments. I'm willing to help you with all issues and
questions but if you are on Windows I'm afraid I won't be able to help
very
effectively. See the guide
http://wiki.eclipse.org/EPF_Wiki_Installation_Guide_for_Ubuntu
Next month I will attempt to setup a production environment with MS Windows
and IIS upon request of a customer. I have given 'no' guarantees it will
work but if it does, I will share a how-to.
Cheers,
Onno

Hi All,
Is a newer version of Apache or InstantRails available for the EPF

on
Windows http://wiki.eclipse.org/EPF_Wiki_Installation_Guide?
The Apache
version packaged with InstantRails2.0 is several years old and
vulnerabilities are coming up on foundstone scans.
Thanks,
