Re: Fw: [emf-dev] Download update site

Everything is possible, given enough time and resources.

Since I have little of the first and I'm all there is for the second, and I
have 4 new EMFT projects starting, 1 migration from EMFT to M2T, 1
brand-new build (GEF) and at least 13 builds for Europa that need to
support signing and packing (and as yet, still don't)... um...

well, let me ask the question another way: is this urgent? (And
incidentally, why don't they want 2.2.3 instead of 2.2.2?)

Are they committers? They could download the jars and site.xml themselves
and build a local site that way; or they could offer to the foundation to
be a mirror, and they'd get their own "local" update site that way, too.

I'm not trying to be difficult, really. I'm just trying to triage the scope
of the pain relative to the time required to provide a fifth way to get EMF
2.2.2.

The 5 ways are: CVS source, 9 different zip packages, EMF UM site (both
releases and interim builds every week), Callisto/Europa Update sites, &
Maven jars. All these are produced with every build (except the
Callisto/Europa site which is only on milestones, of course).

Some questions:

Is this a request for this to be produced with every build or only Release
builds? Will this be just for EMF, or will this snowball into a request for
all Modeling projects to do this? Note also that a Mylar site is 5M. EMF is
26M w/ SDK + examples, every week. We tend to run out of quota as it is
these days -- will the foundation give us more disc space to accommodate
this request?

Thanks!

Right. They want to be able to download the update site and use it as a
local site. Exactly what Mylar provides.
