Jeff,
The model portion of EMF is absolutely suited to non Eclipse/IDE uses.
Running it standalone in a server runtime, for example, is a great fit.
Btw, this kind of question should really be posted to the emf newsgroup,
instead of this mailing list.

I was wondering, is EMF intended to be only used in an
Eclipse context? What is the possibility of using it
in something else like a web app?
I would love to be able to generate my model from UML
(or one of the other mechanisms) and deploy it with my
application logic. Is this too far out of the box, or
right in the middle?
