I does miss the pack.gz version indeed,
but I'm able to download the jar file just fine. And even open it
when done.

I can download the jar and install it from http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-nightly.
There is no pack.gz for org.eclipse.jgit since we switched
off it's generation
due to unpacking errors, see https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=372845
