We're certainly not against updating the SUA. You may note that the current version is a recent update. However, I certainly agree that it is now too late for Helios, especially because of the work that's gone into bug 306627[1].

But I just took a quick look at the SUA, and I would like to better understand your views on what enhancements are needed to support the EDL. Perhaps someone could open a bug and explain what you think the issue is? (I don't mean right away necessarily. Actually shipping Helios is way more important for the time being.)

I do realize that the SUA talks a lot about the EPL as the default license. But that is actually by design and an accurate reflection of Eclipse's projects. There is a lot of legal stuff at Eclipse that is hanging off the phrase "Unless otherwise indicated,..." at the beginning of the "Applicable Licenses" section.
