Do you know any workarounds for this 'issue' ? Currently, only committers are allowed to use a different author line. This is because the author line is what we report for attribution in the project's IP logs, so we need to be reasonably certain that the author line is correct for the foundation's records. > I would prefer work on this patch set instead of creating a new one. You need to change the author in your commit to be you, but maybe add a "Also-by: ..." line in the footer of the commit message.
