I fixed the issue in JGit by using another JDK on build.eclipse.org...
pass this to Maven...

-Dorg.eclipse.update.jarprocessor.pack200="/shared/common/ibm-java2-ppc-50/jre/bin"

I tried this for egit but I always (played a lot with Hudson job parameters) hit the same

!@**@**? ZipException, something is still wrong here. I give up for tonight :-(
