Re: [ee4j-community] Introducing Eclipse Ozark (MVC)

This is great news Christian.  Now there's a sensible upgrade path for all those legacy action based apps out there.

Hi all,

I'm very happy to see that our Eclipse Ozark proposal is live now. This is a great step forward for the Ozark project.

I want to use this opportunity to clarify a few things. First I would like emphasize that our plan is to also move the specification project to EE4J. As MVC 1.0 was originally targeted for Java EE 8, becoming a child project of EE4J is a reasonable step to take.

The other thing to note is that we will definitely finish the specification within the JCP. That absolutely makes sense, because the specification isn't far away from the finish line (hopefully by the end of H1 2018).

All,

Just wanted to mention that the Eclipse Ozark project proposal just went live on our website. Eclipse Ozark provides an implementation for Model View Controller API (MVC 1.0), starting from the specification defined by Java Community Process JSR-371.

Thank you to Ivar Grimstad and his colleagues on the project for making this happen.

Thanks.
