[edc-community] Eclipse / EKITIA: Interview request (on EDC connector)
|
Dear all,
I am Alice Grenier-Dekeuwer from the association Ekitia. I am
contacting you as part of our
research work and our innovation approach.
But first, I would like to briefly introduce Ekitia:
Ekitia is a French association, based in Toulouse, which gathers
60 organisations from the
public, private and academical fields. Together, they strive to
promote a more
ethical development of data economics. Ekitia identifies and
develops tools to build trust in data-driven
projects and remove barriers to data sharing. These tools are
based on ethical,
legal, technological and economic foundations and expertise.
We also carry out R&D aimed at building trust and ensuring
the
ethical use of data within Data Spaces.
As part of this work, we launched a study on data and resources
orchestration within European Data Spaces. The aim of this study
is to provide
our members and partners interested in the subject with a
decoding (not
exhaustive but detailed) of the technical building blocks for
orchestrating
resources and data within Data Spaces.
We are currently preparing a series of deliverables (deadline:
September
4th, 2026) aimed at presenting the findings of the
study by
proposing a common knowledge base:
- around
the fundamental concepts related to the orchestration of
resources and data
within Data Spaces
- on
privileged characteristics defined by the Ekitia community
such as
interoperability, accessible ergonomics, scalable,
non-monopolizability,
minimum energy consumption, open source, resilient, secure,
inclusive,
transparent...
To contribute to the overall deliverable, we would like to write
presentation sheets for the technical building blocks of
existing solutions
(Eclipse, Simpl, Ocean, Dawex…) to:
- detail
their objectives and features
- describe
the elements of the solutions corresponding to the Ekitia
criteria
We are reaching out to you today for a 30-minute discussion, if
you
agree, to allow us to draft the EDC connector identification
sheet, one of the
major solutions designed for European Data Spaces. This identity
sheet will
then be submitted to you for approval before the deliverable is
released.
This exchange would allow us to address:
- The
objectives and services provided by the EDC connector
- The
development projects of the Eclipse Foundation, aimed for Data
Spaces
- The
positioning of the solutions proposed by the Eclipse
Foundation on the various
Ekitia criteria (interoperability, transparency,
resilience...).
Here are the proposed time slots:
- Monday
21/07 at 4 p.m.,
- Tuesday
22/07 morning or at 4 p.m.,
- Wednesday
29/07 from 10:30 am,
- Thursday
31/07 at the time of your choice,
- Tuesday
04/08 at the time of your choice,
- Thursday
06/08 at the time of your choice?
If none of these time slots suits you, could you please let me
know your
availability, ideally before August 15th... (target delivery
deliverable on
September 4th)
Thanking you in advance for your time, I wish you an excellent
day.
Best regards,
Alice Grenier-Dekeuwer
