RE: [eclipselink-users] Spikes, FOSS JPA 1.0 test framework

John,

Shaun and I form the product management team for Oracle TopLink and are by nature of that very involved in EclipseLink. All of our developers who worked on Oracle TopLink and TopLink Essentials are now focussed on EclipseLink. We see it as the replacement for TopLink Essentials as is evident by GlassFish replacing Essentials with EclipseLink in V3. TopLink Essentials is no longer in active development but just be maintained for critical bug fixes.

If you wish to email the committers on TopLink Essentials directly you can use persistence@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

The real question is, if EclipseLink addresses your issues are they still critical issues for TopLink Essentials?

Dear Shaun,

Thanks for submitting the bug, I appreciate not being told to submit it
myself. It got my vote. Seems Tim H has had a similar problem, as he
commented that annotated methods outside the domain class also work 'as
advertised'. Now you know why I called the project Spikes, prickly little
devil that it is...

Now, I had noticed your job title before, and I still have those two little
problems with TopLink Essentials too
1. As per EclipseLink bug id=233296, submitted by Shaun
2. NPE on a null property specified as optional=false/nullable=false, via an
unexpected (at least to me) call to hashCode()

Do you know of anyone who works for Oracle on that particular project?
Perhaps very high up, such as a Principal Product Manager? Seriously though,
is there another list I should talk to?

John
