The newcomers breakfast sound good. But if Monday continues to be the tutorial Monday, it’s usually less busy then the other days. On the other hand, there might be more newcomers on Monday and the less busy atmosphere makes it easer for connecting on such an event. 

Do you have stats about the attendees per talk (and thus also per track)? I’d love to see how each track turned out to be. My feeling is that the old school Eclipse projects content is not attracting a lot new people (except e4, but that I don’t consider old school). IoT seemed like the appealing content these days. Also, Java was big but that might be related to the Java 8 content and launch. Might be different next year if Java 8 is available for a while.

Again, thanks for the great work you did on the PC. I hope you like the group photo, too!

The Foundation staff is doing some debriefing, and the idea of a "Newcomers' Breakfast" came up as a way to gather with the first-timers for breakfast on Monday -- a way to make them feel welcome, answer questions, etc.

PC participation at this would be essential. So WDYT of the idea? And other suggestions on this topic?

And of course send in any comments, suggestions, reports of feedback from attendees, etc. on ECon 2014. We will be making some important decisions about ECon 2015 within the next six weeks, and your feedback is very important!
