Re: [eclipsecon-na-program-committee] better BoFs at ECon

Hi all -- As Ian said, involving local restaurants may not really be workable, despite our willingness to tackle it. It depends on the restaurants being eager to participate, agreeing to our process, etc. -- not to mention the other logistical issues pointed out by Pascal and Dave.

Carole (our MeetGreen project manager) and I discussed this idea when we were in Burlingame, walking around seeing what was there. We didn't come up with a plan that simple and feasible. So that probably means there isn't one.

I tend to agree with David and Thomas that the logistics might be too much. No slight against Anne, since she is a logistics queen, but maybe we need to re-think this.

Do people agree having BOFs starting right after the sessions is the right thing to do?

Trying to coordinate the reservation with a restaurant is a challenge as is, and with 8 – 10 people (maybe), it will be a pain for the organizer and the restaurant.

But Anne offered help with organizing all this (plan B). I understand that this is a lot work for the conference people. But if we can get that help I still think dinner BoFs will be a great chance to network with like-minded/people interested in a particular topic.
