Re: [eclipsecon-na-program-committee] Interesting and possibly controversial idea

Gunnar, which session is that?

Besides the big elephant in the room (IntelliJ), I have a few IDEs that I am thinking of in particular.  Adobe Brackets is an html5-oriented editor with a rich plugin system and a very robust community.  And Cloud9 has taken an interesting approach to supporting node development in the cloud. I don't know how successful their business model is, but it is a nice editor to use.  Lastly, Codenvy seems like it is trying to recreate Eclipse in a cloud environment. I don't personally think this is the direction to go, but it well executed and a nice counter-point to Orion.

If this makes sense, I can contact people in charge of these projects and see if they would like to present.

I also don't think having an entire day or track is necessary, but at least extending invites to other IDEs might be sufficient.

I'm not sure about a full day or track either. But we should definitely go out an talk to interesting speakers about this.

FWIW, I'll be at JavaOne this week and I have a particular session in mind that I'd like to attend. It's not an IDE shootout but wants to highlight the strengths of each IDE. I'd planned to talk to the speaker afterwards if the group don't mind.
