[eclipsecon-na-program-committee] Creeping Featuritis of schedule site
|
I'm looking at the schedule and looking at what sessions I'd like to
attend. In particular, I'm looking at this page:
http://www.eclipsecon.org/2012/program/session-schedule
Would it be possible, or make sense, when I hover over a title, to pop
up a synopsis of the talk? The page already does some magic and
highlights the title in red. So why not take the extra step and just
pop up and show me the title, the first speaker, the room, time, and
the first 100 words of the abstract. I'm not a designer and I don't
play one on TV, but here's a concept...
I know some people get cranky about popups and things happening
without their action (and I'm occasionally one of them, "Hey, you kids
get off my yard"). So, maybe put a checkbox on the page to enable
disable the behavior. Dunno, real designers, chime in, but I found it
annoying to have to go into each talk to actually figure out what it
was.
