Subject: [eclipsecon-na-program-committee] Minutes from today's meeting
Well, I didn’t really take minutes. But here’s what I remember.
First we need to make sure the PC has admin privileges with the submission system. Chris has fixed them to his knowledge. If you are having trouble, let us know.
Voting can start now. Vote for the talks you’d like to see. By Monday, we’ll see what the top 5 are and how the voting went in general. It’ll give us a good feel for how it’s going to go when we have all things in.
BTW, I’ve asked Chris if it was possible to allow for more than a binary vote. I’d like to see -1 (hate it), 0 (indifferent), 1 (like it), 2 (must have it). we’ll see what he comes up with. But for now, we’ll just deal with 1/0. If you
see a talk you really think shouldn’t make the cut, make a note if it and if we have it above the line, make sure you let us know. Same for the other way for talks you really want to see.
Good feedback from EclipseCon Europe. People loved the program and we should take a look and make sure we follow in style. Technical talks are always the favorite. And that includes keynotes which Ian is already aware of. Still negative
feedback on the deadline, even with the one week extension. I’d rather they complain about why ECE was so late ;). We are where we are.
Next meeting on Thursday. We’ll check on how the submissions and voting are going. And we’ll talk about the end game. We’ll have another meeting next Thursday to prepare for the rush.
:D
