- I would switch the "Linux GTK platform support" to HIGH (sounded to me like there is a possible major breakage coming up maybe already by the end of the year)
- I would set the Java language issues and other outstanding JDT PRs“ to HIGH

I have created issues for all the items discussed at our last call in the IDE WG Development Funding Effort - Planning Council Top Issues board. 

We now need to prioritize the list, I have done my first stab at a priority list by assigning one of the Priority labels to each item which gives us this ordered list:


The two actions here are:

1. If you think an open issue should not be funded, please say so
2. If you think the relative priority is incorrect, please say so

While Paul and Sharon at the Foundation will prioritize recruiting people to do this work based on the priority label, if they can find people to do any of the items that will be used.

Before the solicitation emails go out, I still have one more step to do for each issue which is to complete the following checklist. I will also prioritize doing that based on what we agree as a council.

Description Include at a minimum:

  • task name and Gitlab Issue id,
  • time estimate, if possible,
  • expected deliverable(s)/outcome(s),
  • identify any dependencies on external resources including Eclipse IT infrastructure updates,
  • means of demonstration and/or verification of completion.

Our next meeting is coming up soon. As I advised at the last meeting we are now being asked to come up with the next set of priorities for spending of the Eclipse IDE WG. Thanks to a new infusion of sponsorship money we do have a reasonable amount of money to address some issues.

Please start your brainstorming about what the Eclipse IDE WG needs to invest in so we can collate the ideas and fund some of these items.
