Re: [eclipse.org-planning-council] [epp-dev] EPP 2021-09 M3

Thank you Martin for the quick turnaround. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Thanks,

Hi everyone!

The 2021-09/M3a release is now live on the Eclipse release site! https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/release/2021-09/m3a

Please note that a respin for the installer hasn't been done, so it will still state M3 on the page for the installer. This does not impact the packages which are under the M3a directory. If we need a new installer build to properly detect the packages, let me know when one is done and I can update the page to point at the new installer. Otherwise, I hope you guys have a great weekend!

Thanks Sravan!

Note the simrel aggregator build has not been reenabled yet, so staging repo won't pick up the change until it is reenabled.

      Jonah,

      I've updated the catalogs now.

I expect the mac installer has the same problem, but respinning that is not really a reasonable option.

I'm a little concerned that the platform is building RC2 this week, basically the final release build,  but we've not had a good build since M1.  If I understand correctly, the current plan appears to be "build RC1 with the remove-splash-path-hack and assume-the-splash-screen-works-for-RC2"...

I'm not sure if the installer suffers the same problem, but it worked on my virtual box just now...

      Regards,
      Ed

      OK.

As the M3 has now been published, I need to start the respin calling it M3a. Assuming no major hiccups it will be ready this evening.

Note - anyone doing a check for updates between now and when M3a is published will get a broken installation. Perhaps we should "unpublish" M3?

@Fred can you leave simrel build disabled until respin is done.
@Eric perhaps we should hold off publishing the m3 download page until m3a is ready
@Ed I guess the catalog needs a respin too.

I won't actually do the final publication step until I hear from Ed to make sure that the installer catalog is indeed in sync with the EPP M3a release.

      Thanks,
      Jonah
