One thing I/we forgot to bring up was the discussion going on about issues with Mars and earlier releases on the newly released Ubuntu 16.04. There are some pretty bad quality issues that are specific to Ununtu and it's use of Unity and it's default themes from what I understand. I haven't looked myself yet, but will need to do that four our commercial product which is pretty old out in the field.

The discussion started on the following bug:

with some additional discussion on ide-dev.

One proposal was to respin the Mars EPP's and switch them to use GTK2 as a workaround. Not how serious anyone took that but the planning council should be aware and participate in that discussion if it takes off.
