RE: [eclipse.org-planning-council] Minutes from Friday'sCallisto call have been posted (FYI)

FWIW, I don't see using Yoxos or any other proprietary
installer as an option for Callisto. Eclipse needs to be completely
vendor-neutral, and no matter how hard we might try, using any commercial
product would be perceived as favouritism.
BTW, for the record, my suggestion
for "Callisto Installer" was to be a much less ambitious thing than Yoxos ...
maybe "installer" is even the wrong word ... I was thinking of more an RCP app
that would be smaller than the Platform feature (30 Megs) and give some
user-friendly, automatic "lead in" to the update manager, I would see
this Callisto "quickly get started miniature update manager"? to be like a
"use once" app, and then future installs, removals, configuration management,
etc., to be handled "as usual" by Update Manager or other tools.
Sorry if I wasn't clear on my
intent ... and, of course, what is really needed or wanted by Planning Council
is always open to suggestion.
