The last set of reviews for 2011 are scheduled for over the next
week. This group of reviews features one creation, a couple of
releases, and a rather large groups of terminations.
Next is the combined release reviews for version 1.2 of the EGit and
JGit projects [1].
The Technology project is engaging in their second annual Subproject
Termination Review [2]. This year, nine projects will be terminated;
here is the complete list: Athena, Cloud Deployment Toolkit,
Community-driven Systems Management in Open Source Project (COSMOS),
Dash/Ganomatic Build Tool, Faceted Project Framework, Eclipse IAM
(Integration for Apache Maven), Open Financial Market Platform
(OFMP), Eclipse Tools for Microsoft Silverlight, and Open Healthcare
Framework (OHF).
The BPMN Modeler project has also decided that it's time to
terminate and archive [3].
If your project is using Git, Bug 343150 [4] needs your attention!
Please have a look at this bug and add your comments (+1/-1). This
bug is asking if we should we set "receive.denyNonFastForwards" as
the default on the git server. This feature would restrict
committers from from pushing things that rewrite history. As I
understand it, this is one of those
stop-you-from-shooting-yourself-in-the-foot measures. Please add
your input to the bug.
Thanks,
Wayne
