Hi PC – members,
Anne just reminded me that we agreed on a telco for the early bird selection. (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AooKAg0m5oPjdDhLamg3d2RjZ1RkV2RjcHhyd01EZlE#gid=0)
Early Bird means (for those new to this) that we pick in total 5 talks that we accept early on and use it to do marketing on the conference.
I suggest that the OSGi DevCon picks ONE early bird and the Eclipse-side of the PC pick 4 early bird talks.
I browsed the already submitted talks and we have great submissions. So for the early birds we also look for great, cool talks. Talks that we can talk about in an email and that attracts people to become part of the conference.
So nothing like „whats new in Riena 5“ (I am picking on myself just to give an example). In my opinion they dont have to sound crazy but they should be easy to understand, attractive to many. (its always a gamble. I remember a very spectacular early bird failed misserably in the session last year)
Please until 1.August 13:00 European Time, EACH PC member pick FOUR items from the session list (http://www.eclipsecon.org/europe2013/program/sessions/submissions). Dont pick anything from the OSGi track though. The OSGi folks should do the same for the OSGi track and pick ONE session.
The telco should be fairly quick. The only content is bargaining about what we pick :-)
Its good practice to NOT pick yourself :-). (even if your submission is the greatest)
Thanks
Christian
p.s. I switched on the important flag, to get everyone’s attention :-)
