Re: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Mobile Device Programming proposals

No, you're not, I basically share your opinion. However, it is quite a hype topic and if a talk focuses on working with ADT for Eclipse, it might be justified to have it in, I think. E.g. Android Jumpstart - Introduction to Android App development could get some attention. However, we had a similar talk last year, so I'm not quite sure if it really is a good idea...

Hi all,

there are quite a few proposals in the domain of "Mobile device Programming", especially Android-SW-Development. I can see that these are important and interesting topics but I'm not sure if EclipseCon is the right forum for these talks. Examples include

Location Based Services - Tips & Tricks and a least 3 more proposal from ekke

and a few not so obvious talks which I remember but can't find in a hurry.

It's my opinion that it is not enough to have an Eclipse based toolchain to validate talks which are centered at Android/Blackberry/iOS development.

What's your opinion?

Achim
