I saw the keynote back then. Not sure if it was the worst :-) but it wasnt good. I am also a little hesitant about Amazon. The keynote back then was even about AWS, so a technical topic and still more a product pitch then anything we could learn from it or a vision. Not sure if that is that bad luck or the way Amazon does keynotes.
fyi, in the past we have contact the Amazon CTO. He has punted us to other people. A number of years ago we had someone from Amazon to a keynote at EclipseCon and it was one of the worst keynotes we have ever had. It was basically a product pitch for Amazaon.<ATT00001..c>

For us there is a lot to learn about what it actually takes to run an innovative, agile and rapidly growing company. What makes them successful and how they actually live "agile", "lean", "kaizen",... - some aspects we can learn from in the software industry. There also is a downside of this proposal: I actually have no clue if he would do a keynote - especially as ECE is in november. Q4 is hell in retail, so chances might not be high. Still, I would approach him with that idea if you are interested.
